About

hi, i’m mac.I wanted a blank canvas that I could paint all of my experiences on. I love writing; words make what is in your soul visible on paper. so cool. I have alot of thoughts lately… well I have alot of thoughts all the time I guess. I figured it would be good to save the ears of my friends and fiance for a change and just lay some stuff out on here. I’m 23 years old, grew up in Hoover, Alabama, and then became a St. Simons Island, Georgia transplant. I’m still on St. Simons and never thought I would have spent 2 years here. At first, it was small and boring… I couldn’t wait to spend a commendable amount of time here, get through my first “real job” (1 year tops), and then bolt. My plans were to be in Tennessee right now… close to my family and in a city full of opportunity. needless to say, the Lord had a different plan in mind. He had more to do with my heart, more to do with my faith, and more for my eyes to see. This season of life has been planted with an immense amount of experience. The more I learn about people, the more I learn about Jesus. I just can’t get enough. It’s all so fascinating… a day can’t be boring when you view it all through God’s lenses. well, I guess I’ll get to “blogging” now. yep, im on that bandwagon. oh yea, for a little background info… I’m going to start writing for a christian magazine back home, so alot of what I write is like a draft for an article. I want to share about the experiences I have had with “the least of these”. I’ve never known anything more beautiful than the love of God seeping into broken lives and reviving broken hearts. I worked for Morningstar Youth Estate (a residential facility for severely abused/ neglected children with IQs below 70) for a year and half, and now I am working with my fiance who owns a recycling business. I am in contact with impoverished, drug addiicted, and alcohol craving customers daily. My fiance and I started a ministry through the business that serves the poor and those seeking to join the recovery community. Through both of my jobs, the Lord has opened doors for me to build relationships with an array of people… cruel, bitter, lonely… homeless, hungry, dirty… rich, blessed, joyful… young, resilient, intelligent… kind, generous, loving… young, old, middle aged, black, white, purple, blue… you name it. The raw reality of the lives they have led and continue to lead have struck me so deep that I want to write about it… here are their stories….
